Big Valley Big Questions Qualifier

Hello all!

This is the formal invitation to the Big Questions National Qualifier for the Big Valley District. Go to tabroom.com, find “Big Valley Big Questions Qualifier” on the list of upcoming tournaments, and then enter your teams and judges. The drop deadline is October 30th.

If you are short your judging requirement, you will be fined based on the number of rounds you have been unable to provide judges for. For every 2 entries, please bring one judge. However, if you are only bringing one entry, please bring one judge.

All judges are committed through the round immediately after the elimination of your teams, even if your school doesn’t have any teams in elimination rounds.

If you have judges who can only come for certain rounds there is a way to indicate that on the tabroom website. After you have entered the judge there will be a link for “availability.” When you click on that link you will be able to turn off judges for particular round/days. There will be 4 preliminary rounds and semifinals onwards.

As for the schedule for the day:

Registration from 7:00 - 7:45

Round 1 8:00 - 9:00 AM

Round 2 9:00 - 10:00 AM

Round 3 10:00-11:00 AM

Round 4 11:00 -12:00 Noon

Lunch 12:00 - 1:00 PM

Round 5 Semifinals 2:00- 3:00 PM   

Round 6 Finals 3:00 - 4:00 PM

Awards 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Decision times will be strictly enforced. All debate rounds should be decided fifty-five minutes after the specified start time.
